This photo was taken at a Blasters show at the sadly long gone Golden Bear nightclub in Huntington Beach, California around 1982 or 83. I'm sorry to say that I don't know who took the photo but they did a real good job. Courtesy of Chris Gaffney.

I know that Bob Dylan doesn't like his picture taken without his permission (or put up on other people's websites) but I couldn't resist. This photo of me sitting in with Bob and his band was from a Dylan show in Grand Junction, Colorado in August, 2003. This little semi-jam session started an awful lot of rumors back then about me joining Bob's band. Well, I really don't know about all that but I will say that Bob Dylan is welcome to join my band any time he wants. Someone sent this photo to me after it had been posted on a Dylan fan site so I don't know who took it but I'm glad they did.

Upper:
I love this photograph. It's one of the few photos of all seven members of The Blasters off stage, together in one place. A rare shot. Lee Allen, Steve Berlin, John Bazz, Gene Taylor, Bill Bateman, Phil Alvin and me. This was a really difficult thing to ever make happen but there was no good reason why that I can think of now. I believe we're standing in the alley next to the old Ritz in New York City around 1982 or 83. We had a lot of great gigs at that joint. My compliments to the photographer (who's name I don't know) for not only taking a great picture but for getting all of us together to take it.

Lower:
My pal, Kurt Mahoney, took this photo at a reunion gig of the early 80's Beat Farmers in November of 2004 at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. I had a blast singing a couple of the late Country Dick Montana's songs with Farmers Jerry Raney, Buddy Blue and Rolle Dexter, and jamming on a very loose and psychedelic version of John Coltrane's A Love Supreme. From Coltrane to Country Dick, an eclectic evening to say the least.

This is a photo of Greg Leisz, Don Heffington, Bob Glaub and me at the basic tracking sessions for the Ashgrove CD in January of 2004. All of us had hung around the old Ash Grove club in Los Angeles when we were kids, watching and learning from the masters of blues, folk and bluegrass, so it only made sense to have them play on this CD dedicated to that club. Over the years, all of these musicians have grown up to become masters themselves and I was proud, honored and intimidated to play with them. The photo was taken at the end of a 12 hour work day-night by the recording engineer, Craig Adams.
